Christian
1. Q. What is Christian living?
A. It is love-controlled conduct that is grounded in and flows from our
personal relationship with Christ. As we grow in our understanding of how much
He loves us, we will grow in our ability to love God above all else and to love
our neighbor as ourselves (Mt.
22:37-39; Jn.
13:34; Rom.
13:8-10; 1
Cor. 13).
Nothing is as important as Christlike love--not knowledge, not religious observance, not ability, not rule-keeping, not appearance, not personal sacrifice. While we may be ignorant without truth, we are nothing without Christ and His love.
We must remember that Love without Doctrine is as Doctrine without Love. One balances the other and prevents running astray. We must know what to believe and temper it with Love is as important as Loving one another as we love ourselves and tempering it with the Doctrine of God, Jesus Christ, Holy Spirit and the Word for as iron sharpens iron so does Doctrine and Love. The both unit Christians into one body, one belief.
