Ten Commandments
Among the most basic commandments are the Ten Commandments, which God revealed
to Moses on Mount Sinai. Jesus Christ taught that we should keep these important
commandments (Matthew 5:21–37).
In the 20th chapter of Exodus in the Bible, you can read the Ten Commandments
as they were revealed to Moses:
- Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
- Thou shalt not worship idols.
- Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord, thy God, in vain.
- Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
- Honor thy father and thy mother.
- Thou shalt not kill.
- Thou shalt not commit adultery.
- Thou shalt not steal.
- Thou shalt not bear false witness.
- Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s belongings.
Obeying the Ten Commandments blesses individuals, families, and communities.
